I just deleted the app The random audio that comes on when the app is launched is too distracting The only way to shut it off is to shut the whole phone down and reboot It comes on when I just want a quick browse of news in my quiet office and is completely distracting to everyone     Terrible audio

I had to write a review before I uninstalled this stupid software I dont know what they are now tying to do with this app but they are failing miserably The constant notifications would be tolerable if by when clicking on them to learn about story it worked instead of doing nothing but send you to the home screen and you cant even find a link to the story you are looking for I dont know if its some lag between whoever is in charge of getting content up and right but fire them and hire someone that has an idea what they are doing And enough with the videos where is the txt to go alone with it cause as shoddy as their video is you need some txt to get a gist of what they heck is going on And I dont want to hear its my shoddy Internet provider to blame cause yes when Im on time warner its crap and everyone know that but when Im on LTE and full bars or when Im on ATMC FiOS I dont think so Do yourself a favor and download any number of other news apps or wait for iOS 9 and that new News app thats replacing Newsstand     Piece of Sh

Would not have bothered installing if I had known there would be invasive and loud video advertisements while Im reading a new report The inline banner ads dont even bother me its just that I dont want surprise videos when Im in the mood for quiet reading     App Store Needs Visible Disclaimers

There are ALWAYS problems with clips news shows drop out in the middle or just shut itself down But the ad before each clip is remarkable reliable     Better to watch Tv

trying out this new app for awhile I have read the reviews and if it is as bad as they say Ill just remove it     Little Miss Muffet

Why is the font so huge In settjngs i set the text size to small but it is freaking big     Font is too big

I am so tired of seeing the same holiday inn ad every single time i try to watch a news clip Theyre 30 seconds long im uninstalling I understand news has to be paid for and ads are a way but seriously This is too much     Bombarded with ads

I get a message saying news flash etc the I open the app to watch it and have to watch a 30 sec commercial which is way to long for an iPhone I should have the option to get to the video and skip the ads after 5 seconds I usually just close the app and go to another news app to get the same message Also if you get an error you have to watch the ad again Please fix the long ads     Content Great Ads too long

I cant turn off this is annoying blast notification every morning thats summarizing and rehashing all of the push notifications Ive already acknowledged over the past day Dont want to turn all of them off just these summaries that are attempts to get me back to the app Ive uninstalled other apps for this same morning rush These 30 second ads are annoying especially for extremely short videos I know ads support the app But who wants to sit through a 30 second ad for a 30 second clip Even YouTube with their obnoxious ads dont do that In the middle of articles there is sometimes a weird out of place description For instance one article has CBS at the top of every fourth paragraph Another just randomly says 19 photos and another says play video politics They seem to be meta tag descriptions but in these articles there are no photos or videos I get notifications through the day of videos but when I click the alert and get taken to the page there are no videos Moreover I need to search for the content in the alert Thats not how it SHOULD work     Still leaves me wanting better

The app looks great and has good content but the videos wont pull up to play The play button is there but no video     Looks Great but the Videos Wont Open

Once you tap on the breaking news banner it doesnt take you to the story it starts playing obnoxious loud music that you cant shut off This app is garbage     Not worth downloading

This app used to be good and still is if youre willing to read the stories However lately Ive been more inclined to watch the news clips but theres nothing except ads when you click on the links The ads run a minimum of about 30 secs and then the news report doesnt even follow Click on the link again and the same thing What a waste of time and on my data account Cmon CBS get with it Cut down on the ads and get the news clips up and running Otherwise this app is going in the trash     Nothing but Ads

CBS app is bogged down with vapid ads and its actual news content is fails to be informative or useful     Pitiful

I love this app Its News on demand but almost like the actual tv show But the last upgrade removed the ability to scroll forward or more importantly backwards to catch something missed Why tie our hands What is gained Certainly not my approval NBC lets me pause and move as I please At some point Ill be compelled to default to that app rather than this one Please bring back user controls        Why remove useful features

Traveling outside US And only local news in local language available on local tV This app is great Unlike other delayed newscasts from other networks this one hasnt crashed Thank you CBS                 Great app

If you enjoy seeing the same 30 second ad 100 times youll definately like this app If not try the ABC News app It has a more reasonable balance of ads to content     SOOOO Many Ads

When breaking news notifications come though on the lock screen the app crashes after unlocking     Crashes on push notifications from lock screen

Ended up having to remove this app because the live radio would start streaming at random moments and its loud The latest happened while the app was closed     Radio stream starts randomly sometimes when app is closed

I installed the app and unlike what some others have reported seems to run There are maybe 25 cities listed and if you do not leave in one of them the app has no value whatsoever I tried letting the app locate a information based on the GPS coordinates I am in Indiana about an hour and a half northwest of Cincinnati Ohio Your app picks Chicago Illinois as the local city Chicago is just under 4 hours away not what I would call local With about 25 cities to choose from and several states eg California and Texas having several cities in the list it is quite likely there will not be a city from your state let alone anything even remotely close to your location     I suppose it has some use

My live bideo was fine BEFORE todays update Now it freezescrashes every 30 seconds Iphone 5     Update causes crashing

I cant say Ive seen many of the problems others have complained about but maybe I blinded by the fact that finally I can properly watch the CBS Evening News It runs great on the app CBS used to have it as a podcast but that was an unreliable poorly done disaster You can watch it on the CBS website but only if you can put up watching the same commercials over and over and over and over every five minutes Getting this one show is what makes this app good for me On second thought my original enthusiasm for this app has been severely dampened Despite a reliable high speed connection the app has begun to freeze up on a regular basis on both cellular and wfi Some playing stories are being cut off before the end some stop and repeat I was able to tolerate the commercials because of the great content presentation but now thanks to Sprint I find myself jumping every time they play their extra loud commercial As we all know the fault for this noise is our own systems yeah right        CBS Evening News on app is great

The content graphics musical transitions and picture quality are supreme Very informative with the the NOW topics of interest and a great looking news cast as well However I must say that the app is somewhat glitchy When it comes to the Audio Video matching Audio popping in and out on hot topics is so annoying Most of the occurrences are during the LIVE Streaming Not as smooth as what Ive experienced in viewing this CBSN network on my PC Im hopeful that the CBS techheads will begin tasking their people with tweaking this app to perfection This is a FIVE STAR hopeful           Extremely Hopeful

it will be great to see the Chromecast support in future but nowonly 1 star of 5     Chromcast support is needed

This is a great app if the videos played All play links in the app do not change state when pressed and the video will not play Please fix this feature that used to work     Does not play videos

Left scroll screen does not allow the user to view the crime or the sports tab I tried reloading the app but to no avail App in some ways is not useable     Needs an overhaul

I enjoy this app very much Free live news without much of the idiocy chatter and nonsense on the 24 hour cable news networks Nice coverage of space technology and science in general as well              Very good

Charge a couple of bucks for the app and get rid of the ads I am tired of waiting for the ads to run only to find a not so interesting story Not only this app but all the news app that use a sensational bite and the story falls apart in the first sentence waste of time     Review and delete

Such great potential because the content is good however this app has one job to doplay news videosand it fails to do that     E for effort

All of the content is great the display is pretty simple and basic they should be much more userfriendly for those who love to read nice display of content on their phones           Could be better

At one time I would have given this app multiple stars but lately unless its a live event its one story then many many many commercials and dead air The last straw came this afternoon when they covered the Donald Trump event in Iowa There was a press conference first during which a very rude reporter was finally escorted out of the room Later he was allowed back in and got his questions answered After that we get the anchors weighing in on what just happened A new hysterical female and a regular commentator just emphasized the ejection of the reporter without mentioning he did eventually get his questions answered The rally then took place and afterwards we have the same hysterical b saying rambling and no specifics Really Many specifics were mentioned especially considering that its more than a year to the election and a year and a half to when a new president takes office I can only speculate that a memo came down from on high to be tougher on Trump I used to have so much more faith in CBS News but no more Use at your own risk     Liars

I have tried many many news apps and the CBS format is outstanding enough for me to take the time to write a review which I never do Its so smooth to scroll down through headlines then get a bit more insight before loading the full article I have not noticed problems with alerts audio or ads Definitely recommended                 Best news app format

Deleted the app Every time I displayed an article a pop up appeared wanting me to load a Google app     Cbs news

Thats all it does crashes all the time Cant see the ads to see the videos     Crashes

I had used the previous version of this app which worked just fine If it aint broke dont fix it This new version doesnt play any of the videos so you are literally left reading this news show as if it were the newspaper Same story with our favorite show CBS This Morning same issues no videos Now why would anyone want to read a television show Please fix these apps     Videos dont work on my iPad
